Chore time

We decided that it's about time that the boys start having some responsibilities around the house. Nothing major yet, but we think they're old enough for us to expect them to clean up their rooms and make their beds each day. They'll split bathroom cleaning duties each week (with our help on that one). We're still trying to iron out some kind of reward system. Any advice?

Heres the deal...if they finish all of their chores at your house they can head on over to our house for a 20 min play time then they can get crackin on our bathroom and dishes:) ok, Im kidding. Just give em cash money! shoot, i'll come clean your toilets for a few extra benjamins

Sticker charts have been working for Eric. He gets to pick out the stickers himself so he gets really excited about getting one.

We thought about the sticker chart, but what kind of end result do you give for a max number of stickers? We were thinking of a dollar store trip or something when they filled up their chart.

What kind of sick child smiles while he's cleaning the toilet? (courtesy of Eva). Remember when we got tickets for our chores? Each different color ticket is worth a specfic amount of money and at the end of the month (or whenever you go on a day trip or something) they can buy something with their ticket. There ya go. That's the winner right there.

We use the charts/stickers for potty training and when Addi completes one, we either go to one of the Playlands or she gets a toy. Could work the same with chores! Or, like I've seen said, $$$ doesn't hurt!

Honestly Stickers are all the reward Eric has needed. He likes to stand and check out all his stickers. I use half a posterboard so the stickers add up and he's got quite the collection going on.
