Dang Computer!

I'm having to write this post from a computer we borrowed from Shawna's sister. (Thanks Cassie and Clint!) Our laptop is experiencing some, um, technical difficulties.
I was doing some work on the computer the other day and noticed that the battery was running low - even though I had the AC adapter plugged in at the time. Soon the low battery warning came on and even though I plugged in and unplugged the power cord to the laptop numerous times, it would not send any power to the computer. Ultimatly the battery went dead and we have no way of turning on our computer now.
Ugggggggh!
Apparently this is a common problem with laptops, however it sounds like it may not be a cheap problem to fix either. We had been wanting to get a new computer, but must first fix our current laptop to even extract all our info, pictures, etc off of it.
I see dollar signs flashing somewhere and am trying to hold back the natural reaction to fix the problem with a sledge hammer.

Bath Time

Sadie is finally sitting up well enough to be able to sit in the bathtub. Here's a few pics from her first "big girl" bath that ended up being complete with bubbles. She loved splashing and playing in the water. We're having so much fun with her right now - to bad kids have to grow up so fast!

Chore time

We decided that it's about time that the boys start having some responsibilities around the house. Nothing major yet, but we think they're old enough for us to expect them to clean up their rooms and make their beds each day. They'll split bathroom cleaning duties each week (with our help on that one). We're still trying to iron out some kind of reward system. Any advice?

New Year's Eve

We're always looking for new traditions and we may have found one this New Year's Eve. In the early evening we met up with a bunch of friends and took all the kids bowling! It was so much fun (and cheap) and everybody had a great time. After hitting the lanes we all headed to the Davy's house for food and games. Ryan makes some killer garlic-cheesy breadsticks and I probably left with 5lbs of breadsticks in my gutt! I learned how to play Bunko (we'll all be getting together for bunko nights now, I'm sure) and then me and Shawna kicked butt playing the "Newlywed Game". We had thought that we'd probably head home around 10, but the kids were playing with each other so well and we were having so much fun that before we knew it we were less than 10-min away from midnight. We all did the countdown together and made lots of noise (sorry neighbors). We headed home tired, but excited about the fresh start of a new year.

Christmas

Christmas was great this year as always. It's so much fun to feel the excitement from the kids during the holidays - totally contagious! We decided to spend a lot less this year (thanks economy) and focus on things people needed, vs. toys we wanted. It turned out to be great and we truly enjoyed the giving as much as the receiving.

We did most of our partying on Christmas Eve with all our local family and it was awesome. BBQ Ribs has got to be a new tradition - even though by the time I was finishing up the ribs on the grill we had blizzard snow conditions outside. We ate and ate and played games, decorated cookies and then opened new PJ's and a few other gifts. What a blast!

On Christmas Day me and Shawna woke the boys up at 5am to open "Santa presents" because I had to be at work by 7. We had plenty of time, it was just a bummer when I had to leave for the fire station and couldn't stay home and play with the boys and their new stuff. Oh well, that's one drawback of the job. Good thing is I know I'm off next year!!
